The use of ROI has generated much debate. Some argue that ROI is the answer to their accountability concerns. Others characterized it as a flawed process, inappropriate for the learning and development function. This session will discuss the development and application of ROI as a measurement tool for learning and development. It will address the myths and mysteries of ROI and show that it is being successfully used as an important part of the measurement mix.

After participating in this session, participants will be able to



  • Describe the current status of ROI as a measurement tool
  • Identify the steps in the ROI methodology
  • Address some of the key issues and challenges of ROI implementation
