What is the purpose of the CLO Breakfast Club series?

The CLO Breakfast Club series presents an environment for local learning executives to discuss the issues that drive enterprise education, share best practices and analyze the strategic alignment of business goals and workforce education. Event registrants are polled prior to the event on the issues currently facing their learning organizations. Chief Learning Officer editors in turn formulate discussion topics based on the needs of each local audience.

Throughout the course of its more than five year existence, the CLO Breakfast Club has evolved into the preferred regional meeting place for learning executives and their corporate peers. What began as a regional road show has quickly become a community.

How is the event structured?

The CLO Breakfast Club series is a regional discussion forum consisting of a panel of industry experts who travel to each city and are moderated by a local Chief Learning Officer. The panelists set the stage for each discussion topic and then throw it out to the audience for conversation.

What is the program focus of the event?

The program is designed to address the needs of those at the senior level of learning and development. We are most interested in having you share the solution your organization crafted and implemented to solve a pressing learning/business challenge.

Previous experience moderating a panel and/or discussion forum is preferred.

Who is eligible to moderate a CLO Breakfast Club?

All learning and development practitioners are encouraged to submit proposals.

Moderators may not promote their own products or services during the presentation. If you are interested in sponsoring this event and want to find out your promotional opportunities, please click here and our event sales manager will follow up.

Is there compensation for moderators?

  • Moderators are offered one free event registration for a member of their team to attend. This registration cannot be shared or split.
  • A full breakfast buffet will be supplied.
  • Valet parking will be covered by CLO.

What is required of me as a speaker from a technical standpoint?

  • All presentations will be run from the main show computer.
  • Show producers utilize Apple hardware.
  • Presentations must be submitted in Microsoft PowerPoint format 3 days prior to the event.
  • Speakers must also bring a back up file on a flash drive.
  • Streaming video is highly discouraged. Internet access may not be available.
  • A lavaliere microphone and wireless advancer will be supplied.
  • Additional a/v equipment requested will be approved case-by-case.
  • All presentations may be recorded and re-aired at a virtual event.
  • Speakers may be required to make themselves available for Q&A at the virtual event.

If selected as a speaker, what information and materials will I be required to submit?

  • A photo for use on the event website and event promotional materials. Photos must be formatted to be a minimum of 300 dpi, 5”X7” and in EPS or JPG formats.
  • A professional bio of 150 words or less in Microsoft Word format.
  • Prepare a 10-15 minute presentation addressing the role the learning organization has in leading your company to dynamic, sustained success.
  • Speaker Agreement form that states you agree to present at this event under the specified conditions, including the potential recording and broadcast at a virtual event after the live presentation.
  • Participation on the event community and Twitter hash-tag #CLOBC.

How do I submit a proposal?

  • Use the online Speakers’ Bureau form, click here.
  • You may submit more than one proposal for an event.
  • Submit a separate form for each session proposed.
  • Complete all areas of the form.
