Focus.com Launches Interactive Live Event App for Business Professionals

Online network builds Web event platform integrating live chat, social media and crowdsourcing ranking tools to connect industry experts with business professionals.

San Francisco — Sept. 21

Focus.com, an online community for business expertise with more than 1 million members and more than 5,000 business and technology experts, launched its enhanced Live Event Platform.

The Focus.com Live Event Platform is a Web application that transforms Web conferencing into a social and interactive event by allowing attendees to engage with presenters and colleagues remotely. The Focus.com Live Event Platform is a real-time, HTML-5 based, interactive application that allows participants to listen to roundtable discussions online, communicate with discussion leaders and other Focus.com members via live chat, and ask industry experts for business advice via structured Q&A in real-time. The new Web-based application combines Web conferencing and live chat with Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter social media integration all in one place.

As with all Focus.com events, participants can submit questions to the discussion leaders. A feature to this live platform is the “Vote-Up” and “Interesting” buttons, which give users the ability to promote audience questions they want to hear answered first, and gauge how interesting the immediate discussion is, allowing them to continue or change the direction of the conversation.

Focus.com events have varied from niche interests such as online gambling, B2B marketing and social CRM to broader topics and breaking news events that affect multiple industries.

The core of Focus.com is built around a roster business and technology experts who offer professional advice to Focus.com members. Focus Experts are leaders in their respective fields and include Co-Founder and Chief Strategist for Trendline Interactive Andrew Kordek, IT security analyst and Forbes blogger Richard Stiennon and President of NAVinture, Jonathan Wu.
