Peoplefluent Appoints Software Executive as President and CEO

Previously CEO of SunGard’s Brokerage and Clearance unit, Gerard Murphy will aim to drive Peoplefluent’s corporate growth strategy and further advance its product innovation in the marketplace.

Waltham, Mass. — July 16

Peoplefluent has announced the appointment of Gerard Murphy as its president and CEO. Murphy, previously CEO of SunGard’s Brokerage and Clearance unit, will aim to drive Peoplefluent’s corporate growth strategy and further advance its product innovation in the marketplace.

Charles S. Jones, having served as chairman and CEO for the last year and a half, will remain as chairman of the firm.

Murphy joins Peoplefluent during a time of strong momentum. During the second quarter, which ended June 30, every business unit posted double digit year-over-year growth, with new bookings growth of 42 percent and annual recurring bookings growth of 52 percent. Year-to-date bookings grew, on a consolidated basis, 21 percent over the same period last year.

From 1995 to 2010, Murphy held a range of positions within SunGard, repeatedly promoted from sales executive positions into top management. Exceeding targets and expectations, he ultimately served as CEO of the brokerage and clearance segment of the business.

While CEO of his division, Murphy was responsible for $350 million in sales revenue and 1,200 employees. From 2007-2010, Murphy steadily increased annual sales year-over-year by 10 to 20 percent and increased EBITDA by nearly 129 percent during 2004-2010.

Prior to his tenure at SunGard, Murphy was with Fidelity Investments/National Financial Services Corp. for four years. He began his career at Legg Mason Wood Walker in Boston.
