Lancaster General Health, a three-hospital nonprofit health care system, is providing 400 leaders across the system with access to Harvard ManageMentor, an online learning product that aims to address a range of business issues.
Harvard ManageMentor is an offering of Harvard Business Publishing, a provider of leadership development services and products.
LG Health is implementing Harvard ManageMentor as the centerpiece of an initiative to create a cadre of agile leaders equipped with the skills and knowledge they need to navigate today’s complex and continuously changing health care environment.
Harvard ManageMentor is comprised of 44 modules, which address fundamental management topics.
LG Health is implementing Harvard ManageMentor as part of a structured, cohort-based learning initiative; an element of its performance process, which includes a Harvard ManageMentor-based competency requirement and an elective requirement tied to an independent development plan; and within the learning infrastructure that supports its administrative and physician leaders with ad hoc access to practical information that can be quickly assimilated and put to immediate use.
With Harvard ManageMentor, LG Health says it has seen an immediate impact. A recent survey showed that 93 percent of those who have used Harvard ManageMentor have applied it on the job; 93 percent believe it will improve their job performance; and 81 percent stated that it has already improved their job performance.
