The need to increase operational efficiency in clinical trial processes and drug development in the biopharmaceutical space is greater than ever. In 2008, clinical research company Quintiles created an initiative to launch a clinical data tracking technology platform (CTMS). While the initial deployment of the CTMS was in 2010, by 2012 it has been deployed to more than 7,000 users globally. Laurie Rosenberg, vice president of integrated process and technologies, reports benefits during this time include improved quality and reduced time in data entry, tracking and enhanced analytics.
