General Electric Co. Chairman and CEO Jeff Immelt announced Monday the appointment of Susan P. Peters as the company’s senior vice president of human resources.
Peters succeeds John Lynch, who is retiring. Raghu Krishnamoorthy, vice president of human resources for GE Aviation, will succeed Peters as head of executive development and chief learning officer for GE. The appointments are effective Aug. 1.
Peters has been an officer of GE since 1997. She joined the company in 1979 through the Human Resource Management Program and has held senior human resources positions in GE businesses.
In 2000, she became executive vice president of human resources for NBC. Peters graduated from St. Mary’s College, Notre Dame, with an undergraduate degree in English literature. She also graduated from the University of Virginia with a master’s of education.
Peters succeeds Lynch, 60, who is retiring after 22 years with GE, serving in global roles first at GE Capital and then at GE Healthcare before moving to the corporate office. Lynch has been head of human resources at GE since 2007.
