Survey: Having a Nice Office Bathroom Matters

How nice is your office restroom? A new survey shows employees consider bathroom conditions as a proxy for if employers value their workers.

Milwaukee — Aug. 27

A new survey found that 93 percent of Americans believe the condition of a workplace restroom is an indicator of how a company values its workforce.

The good news is many employers are meeting expectations, as 61 percent of employees rate their workplace restroom as excellent or very good. Just six percent say they have a poor or terrible work restroom.

The findings are part of the “Healthy Hand Washing” survey by Bradley Corp., a manufacturer of commercial hand washing products.

On the other hand, 41 percent of employees have experienced restroom troubles — toilets clogged or not flushed, bad smells and towel and soap dispensers being empty, jammed or don’t dispense enough are the most common complaints.
