Everyone is Getting Raises!

The global average salary should raise by 5.4 percent in 2015, according to a recent forecast. However, inflation will make that salary bump seem lame.

Merry Christmas, everyone! We're all getting raises!

According to a forecast by management consulting firm Hay Group, the global average salary should rise by 5.4 percent in 2015, compared with a rise of 5.2 percent last year.

However, taking inflation into account — you know, that other thing that tends to make getting raises seem less cool — the real average income is expected to grow by just 1.4 percent next year, compared with 1.5 percent in 2014.

Hay Group's salary forecast was first written about in The Wall Street Journal last week. Read more here.
