Leadership Development for Millennials Makes Sense

Millennials prioritize learning and development at work, and employers may want to create targeted options for this cohort to enjoy.

The reality of a growing millennial workforce greatly influences the future of work. Organizations that want to stay ahead of this particular trend should re-evaluate their learning and development strategies, and consider creating programs specifically targeting this group.

One company is doing just that. This month, U.K.-based corporate event company Bluehat Group introduced Bluehat Develops, a new leadership development arm focused on graduates and emerging leaders. Bluehat CEO Tim Shepley said this is unique because it includes a “carefully structured selection of workshops and leadership games” that match the needs of the organization’s clients.

Sean Clarke, Bluehat learning and development director and leader for Bluehat Develops, said the foray into the new space was an obvious choice, as millennials make up more than 60 percent of the organization’s staff. “We understand this growing sector, and our mindset of serious play sits perfectly with them.”
