Virtual Festival of Emotional Intelligence Set for March 18-24

The event by nonprofit Six Seconds aims to blend the latest science and practical strategies in emotional intelligence.

San Francisco — Feb. 28

An online festival featuring neuroscientists, authors and emotional intelligence experts from around the world sharing webinars, articles and e-books is set for March 18-24.

The event, eWeek, is the first in a series culminating in the NexusEQ Conference in June at Harvard University.

Completely free, eWeek aims to blend the latest science and practical strategies. Each day during the festival, several live webinars will feature experts on using feelings more effectively in business, education and life. Speakers will share the latest neuroscience that reveals insights to create high performance at work, strengthen leadership and also increase safety and reduce violence in schools.

In education, a growing body of research on social emotional learning (SEL) shows that students who have an effective SEL curriculum earn better grades and score higher on test, while at the same time reducing conflict, violence and risk behaviors.

Other presentations include a workshop by neuroscientist Paul Zak sharing research on trust in high performing teams, and a special presentation by Richard Boyatzis, who developed an emotional intelligence test with Daniel Goleman, author of several books on the topic.

The eWeek festival is also the kickoff event for the NexusEQ Conference at Harvard University in June. The seventh international NexusEQ conference aims to blend top experts in neuroscience, leadership and learning to use emotions to spark positive change.

Both events are organized by Six Seconds, a nonprofit network of emotional intelligence experts.
