Chicago, Feb. 15 – Chief Learning Officer magazine (CLO) has unveiled the 2012 LearningElite organizations. These finalists are innovators in learning and development, leading their industries by utilizing the best business practices.
Developed under the guidance of a group of chief learning officers and senior L&D practitioners, LearningElite is the only peer-based benchmarking initiative that recognizes excellence using five key L&D performance indicators: learning strategy, learning execution, learning impact, business performance results and leadership commitment.
“Now in our second year with the LearningElite program, we have definitely seen a shift in businesses’ goals and more organizations are making their L&D programs a top priority,” said Norm Kamikow, president and editor in chief of MediaTec Publishing Inc., which publishes Chief Learning Officer magazine. “With the LearningElite program, we offer businesses insight into their L&D functionality by providing them powerful benchmarking data that can help lead every organization to excellence.”
Competition increased this year as first-time applicants joined several 2011 LearningElite organizations that re-applied in the hopes of raising their benchmark and continuing their improvements. New for 2012, the top five finalists are required to participate in a capstone evaluation, which includes a presentation and executive interview with the capstone evaluation judging panel.
“The top five companies have shown that their L&D programs are phenomenal on paper, but the purpose of the capstone evaluation is for the top five, role-model organizations to demonstrate leadership commitment to L&D and to allow the judging team to examine issues that are essential components of scoring and role model determination,” explained Stacey L.T. Boyle, Ph.D., vice president of research and advisory services of Human Capital Media Advisory Group, a component of MediaTec Publishing Inc.
The 2012 LearningElite rankings will be announced Sunday, April 1, 2012, at a gala dinner preceding the opening of the Spring 2012 CLO Symposium at the Loews Miami Beach Hotel in Miami Beach, Fla. The 2012 LearningElite organizations will also be featured in the June 2012 issue of Chief Learning Officer magazine and have the opportunity to host workshops at the 2012 LearningElite Forum virtual event Aug. 7-8, 2012.
