Professional coaching is a multi-billion-dollar industry, according to new global research produced by the International Coach Federation. The 2012 ICF Global Coaching Study found that the estimated global revenue from coaching to be almost $2 billion annually.
The worldwide income statistic is derived from the aggregate total of what individual coaches reported earning only from coaching.
The 2012 ICF Global Coaching Study also shows that the worldwide annual revenue of the profession is expected to rise further. According to results, the coaching profession is rapidly expanding with areas of increasing maturity and growth potential, particularly in Latin America and the Caribbean.
In addition, coaches reported that they expect to see continued increases in the number of clients they service, the number of coaching sessions they participate in, and more than 76 percent expected their annual revenues to increase over the next year.
The 2012 ICF Global Coaching Study was conducted independently by the International Survey Unit of PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC). Available in nine languages, responses were received from more than 12,000 people in 117 countries.
The International Coach Federation is a global organization for coaches, with more than 19,000 members in more than 100 countries.
