Echo360 to Capture and Publish Conference Sessions at BbWorld

Blackboard will make the Echo360 recordings freely available to event attendees, allowing them to review those sessions they were unable to attend during the conference.

Las Vegas —July 12

Echo360, a campus-wide blended learning and lecture capture company, announced that Blackboard Inc. has selected it to record, publish and host conference sessions at BbWorld 2011 and DevCon 2011, the company’s annual gathering of its users and community, and one of the largest e-learning events all year.

Blackboard will make the Echo360 recordings freely available to event attendees, allowing them to review those sessions they were unable to attend. This is the fourth consecutive year the companies have teamed to provide the service to Blackboard users.

The events will emphasize peer-to-peer education and practical, hands-on training and development on topics including change management, scalability and ways to best leverage the latest Blackboard technology in colleges, universities, K-12 schools and districts, and government, corporate and nonprofit organizations. Echo360 will capture select sessions on topics ranging from mobility, pedagogy, student analytics and more.

Echo360 was the first blended learning solution to leverage Blackboard Learn, an online teaching and learning platform, to automatically publish lecture recordings to a learning management system. Today, Echo360 embeds the EchoCenter portal into the Blackboard Learn platform. Students can access recordings and preview discussions surrounding their lecture, while instructors can track recording usage to understand student viewing habits in the familiar Blackboard environment.
