Inmedius Inc. announces that the IGA Coca-Cola Institute, a people development organization which provides learning resources for food retailers worldwide, has reached 100,000 online learning enrollees through its Generation21 Learning Suite. Browser-based, the institute’s learning management system (LMS) is hosted by Inmedius at its Denver data center.

The suite currently facilitates six languages and a large library of 104 courses through the institute’s collaboration with more than 3,000 supermarkets, convenience stores and hypermarkets globally. For the last year, the institute estimates that its learners consumed an average of 8,336 hours of training each month via its Inmedius System.

“We recognize that to remain relevant, retailers need to improve their performance every day,” said Paulo Goelzer, CEO, IGA Coca-Cola Institute. “This is why we provide training programs that are customizable, easy, effective and specialized for the food retail industry. By partnering with Inmedius, we have been able to offer the best value in the market, delivering content and learning activities developed by food retail people that include audio, video and interactive challenges. With the Generation21 System, we are able to test job-specific knowledge and skills, track student progress, and offer a multilingual online training program that is simple to implement, manage and customize.”

The topics range from management and leadership to retail operation knowledge, with classes designed for a spectrum of learners that includes grocery stockers, clerks, cashiers and managers. Subject selections cover everything from food safety and handling to loss prevention.

“We congratulate the IGA Coca-Cola Institute on reaching this remarkable milestone in reaching a broad online learning community,” said John Stearns, vice president, Inmedius. “The institute’s achievement clearly demonstrates the value of effective content presented in an accessible, timely way. Inmedius is proud to be the distribution platform for this successful global initiative to increase people performance and business effectiveness of the food retail community.”
