Pizza Hut has announced an initiative to help its employees — and their family members — access adult education programming.
Central to the “Life Unboxed EDU” program is Pizza Hut’s partnership with Excelsior College, which will give both salaried and hourly Pizza Hut employees and their immediate family members a 45 percent discount off undergraduate tuition at Excelsior, a distance-learning institution, and 15 percent off its graduate programs. The program enables employees to apply their on-the-job management level training coursework toward their chosen degree program at Excelsior.
Additionally, Pizza Hut will pay up to $5,250 per year in tuition, books and fees for each salaried, full-time corporate employee participating in the Unboxed program. Pizza Hut executives have said the new program will help alleviate the challenges employees can face when juggling work and family in addition to continuing their education.
Sixty-five Pizza Hut employees are currently enrolled in the pilot program.
