The purpose of the biannual Chief Learning Officer Symposium is to bring learning leaders together for a conversation about the L&D industry. One of our favorite aspects of the event is called the CLO Power Hour, when we bring six industry thought leaders together for a fast-paced discussion on topics ranging from talent management to adaptive learning.
On Tuesday, April 14, we’ll be hosting two Power Hours; one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Here’s a preview of what you can expect.
Starting at 11 a.m. Sarah Finch, Leadership Development Manager at YMCA of the USA, will take the stage for the first 15 minutes of the Power Hour to discuss how YMCA recently launched a new competency model. She will be followed by Steve King, Vice President of Talent & Leadership Effectiveness for Allstate Insurance Company, who will talk about Allstate’s current initiative to change its leadership culture. Then Nick Howe Vice President of Learning and Collaboration at Hitachi Data Systems, how Hitachi Data Systems deployed adaptive learning for its global employee, partner and customer base, and the benefits that have been achieved. Finally, the Finch, King and Howe will take the final 15 minutes of their Power Hour to answer questions from attendees.
And starting at 4 p.m., David Rock, Director at the NeuroLeadership Institute, will kick off the second Power Hour of the day when he discusses a new scientific framework for mitigating bias in the workplace. Then Robert Perkins, Vice President of Global Talent Management at Foot Locker, Inc., will talk about how Foot Locker uses predictive analytics to fuel a talent management process that creates a consistent brand experience across teams to drive top line performance. Kendall Kirby, Vice President of Technology Solutions for USAble Life, will discuss how his organization developed and fostered a corporate university partnership with University of Arkansas, Little Rock senior capstone program as a tool for providing students valuable real-world IT skills, while simultaneously building their talent pipeline. Just as with the first Power Hour, Rock and Perkins will field questions from the audience about their presentations.
We’re looking forward to these two hours of enlightening discussions from these presenters, and we hope you are too.
Hope to see you there.
Until next time,
