Enterprise Education Leaders Gather at
Spring 2014 Chief Learning Officer Symposium
Forum features executive-level sessions on the
influence of learning communities within organizations
Chicago, March 5, 2014 — More than 300 learning and development executives, human capital management experts and business professionals from around the globe will gather at the Chief Learning Officer Symposium from March 31 – April 2 to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the event and advance the practice of strategic workforce development.
Hosted by Chief Learning Officer magazine, the Symposium is unmatched for the caliber and expertise of speakers, quality professional development it delivers and productive networking opportunities. Over the course of the three-day conference, thought leaders and learning practitioners will explore — as well as exemplify — the conference theme, Building Community: Learning’s Most Valuable Influence, during panel discussions, interactive workshops, keynote presentations and fireside chats with luminaries in the industry
“In today’s interconnected world, no organization is an island and no business leader is an independent entity. It’s all about being part of something larger,” said Norm Kamikow, president and editor in chief of Human Capital Media Group, which publishes Chief Learning Officer magazine. “That’s certainly true for those who lead the learning function at enterprises around the world.”
Chief learning officers deliver training and development to employees and customers but they also play a fundamental role to bring organizational vision to life and provide tangible value to the enterprise. L&D leaders ensure the workforce has the skills to succeed now and prepare the organization for the future.
“Meeting the challenges of this role requires learning leaders to constantly build new knowledge and enhance their understanding of best practices and strategies,” said Kamikow. “Coming together for the CLO Symposium affords learning executives a high-level opportunity to have important conversations, collaborate with peers and acquire actionable ideas they can use to continuously improve the impact of learning within their organizations.”
For the 10th anniversary, the Spring CLO Symposium is returning to The Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel in Dana Point, Calif., where the first Symposium was held a decade ago. The conference also coincides with the unveiling of the LearningElite, the magazine’s prestigious annual peer-reviewed benchmarking program. The 2014 LearningElite rankings will be announced March 30 at a gala celebration preceding the symposium that will be sponsored by Saba, getAbstract and Procter & Gamble.
