Black women face a disproportionate number of challenges in the workplace, such as less opportunity for advancement, lower wages and face a higher risk of disruption from automation. In 2020, women of color held 12 percent of managerial positions, 9 percent of senior manager or director roles and 3 percent held a position in the C-suite. For Black women specifically, these percentage are lower.
