John Jordan is the head of The Academy at Bank of America, an award-winning training and development program with over 40,000 participants each year, including 4,000 leaders and 3,000 new financial advisors. In his role, he is responsible for the onboarding, training and professional development of all client-facing employees across the Consumer and Small Business, Merrill and Private Bank organizations.
John joined Bank of America in 2003. He was most recently the head of Programs and Client Experience for Consumer and Small Business. In that role, his responsibilities included launching the industry leading Preferred Rewards program, leading Employee Financial Services, and introducing Life Priorities and Life Services to clients across the franchise through the financial center channel. Additionally, he has served as the head of Preferred and Small Business Analytics and the National Sales and Strategy executive for Merrill Lynch Wealth Management Banking, and has held a series of market, region and national sales leadership roles.
John is a member of the board of directors for the Bank Administration Institute (BAI) and a Talent Management Committee chair for the Consumer Bankers Association (CBA). He is the local executive sponsor for the Charlotte Parents and Caregivers Network and the Charlotte Community Volunteers Network. He also serves as the market sponsor for the state of Iowa.
Outside of work, John is an advocate for the special needs community of Charlotte. He is a volunteer with the Special Olympics and a founding board member of The Exceptional Foundation of Charlotte, a local organization providing facilities and programs for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
John is a graduate of Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science in industrial and systems engineering, and received his master’s degree in business administration from the Darden School at the University of Virginia. He resides in Charlotte with his wife and their four children.
